Bomb the Oil Leak?!

I talked with a friend of mine who lives along the west coast of Florida on 5-20-2010.
One of the subjects we discussed was fishing along on the west coast of Florida in which I (about half jokingly said— yikes) is that he’d better get his gear out before the oil spill in the Gulf hindered his fishing trip.
Then I said, after thinking the following very thought many times since the recent BP oil rig disaster in the Gulf, “why doesn’t the gov’t or someone suggest sticking/implanting a bomb down the main source of the well (?)”.
To my surprise , my friend said that he had read/heard that Russia has stopped several similar underwater leaks by caving-in “such underwater spills” with specific nuclear bombs/technology. I don’t know the specifics as to the depth of the Russian leaks in comparison to the U.S. Gulf leaks… nonetheless, the option should be explored (quickly!) in my opinion!
SOMEONE should look into the bomb/nuke option… I have heard NOTHING in the news, via/from the U.S. gov’t) in thinking that a massive explosion could seal up an underwater well — it surly can be done above ground and if the Russians have proven it successful (readers, please check into this!!) then why hasn’t this option been explored????????!
Myself, I cringe at the thought of another nuclear blast underwater. It brings back the “testing days” of of WWII and afterwards!
BUT, if possible, wouldn’t it be better to use a “quicker sealing-up” of the well using a nuke than to keep on waiting for BP and those involved to come up with a solution… after all — it’s been a month since the explosion.
The nuke option and it’s after-affects should be examined as opposed to clinging on to the corruption of BP and the Bush/Cheney-era backdoor deals that seem to be slowing-down a quicker, and a possibly more conclusive solution of the current oil spil in our precious Gulf/East Coast due to written laws of their reign….
Anyhoo, should Obama, talk to the Rooshkins and see wassup with their strategy concerning nasty underwater oil leaks …!

Well now I feel stupid, after listening to a leading scientist (Kaku), I cannot support the “nuke” approach…
BUT, what about conventional bombs… be back later … gosh I wish I had a research team… lol…
